some slightly out of context things I learned reading about irish myths this morning:
- fionn mac cumhaill once saw a boy that was part-deer and instantly assumed it was his son
- when in battle, cu chulainn suffered something called “warp spasms”, in which his limbs contorted, one eye protruded while the other receded into his head, blood apparently shot out of his face and he started screaming VERY loudly, and he could only be calmed down by being dunked in a vat of water three times
- medb offered the king of ulster “the friendship of her upper thighs” in exchange for a big bull
- fionn literally had knowledge of everything, but could only access it by sucking on his thumb like a baby
- Apparently Scathach had a daughter and was ready to let seven-year-old cu chulainn bang her
